Christmas Letter 2019
2019 began with some wonderful time at home and in the slopes with Son, Daughters, and Grandchildren.
(above) We have Julianne, Matthew, and Julie riding the chairlift with Santa and Makayla and Devey skating at Copper Mountain and my "Kids" having their picture taken Christmas Day 2018).
The Iowa clan and the California kids enjoy the Mountains and one another. Brother Bear and Sister Bears never have any fun... they are close and crazy! Lori Beth # Mom; Megan # Mom; Julie # Mom; Matthew # Uncle. So the Grandchildren didn't "lick it off the grass! Julieanne, Charlie, Nathan, Makayla, and Davey. all, #Cousins Rock! We enjoyed our Christmas time together and we will gather again about 12/19 begin the festivities again with family members coming and going.
Julie began her business: Atagol Fitness in Pacific Grove and celebrated a grand openning at the new facility with the Mayor and her friends and family: Julie, Mayor, Makayla, Davey, and Jason.
Alan and Connie Kobza joined Marge and I to visit Lake Tahoe. We had a good time playing games and enjoying the Nevada/California Mountains The week flew-by and soon we returned home to get back to a remodel project that still has finish work to do.
Matthew and I attended the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo... I like the mutton bustin'
We took a one night get away to The Historic Crags Lodge in Estes Park...a very good day and a half in the hills, saw some elk and deer... A good way to say goodbye to January
The remodle/destruction project went into full force in February and we attended a couple of Nathan's basketball games
In the middle of February we were invited to fly to Minneapolis/St Paul to attend Julieanne's Show Choir... what an experience of entertainment and a BIG SNOW EVENT
March brought some quiet time... and a key goal for my weight-loss. And a drink on St Patrick's Day
... of course March-Madness and golf whenever we could. Then a trip to the Oregon Coast and visit Fr Tim (Marge's Nephew).
There's a story here... I lost my key to the condo... Marge found it under the car seat. Then in
April we found we had new responsibilities... to help care for Ralph...as I continued with the re-model...
We took our April trip to Pacific Grove to celebrate two special Birthdays. Makayla (9) and Davey (7). Saw Davey play ball, Makayla did Nana's nails, Papa played the Pacific Grove Links, and Nana and Papa enjoyed the Coast.
In May I found "John's Albatroos" and we took in a couple of Nathan' baseball games and played golf when we could.
By June we were ready for serious Golf! And the start of Camping Season. The big trip took us to Ouray, "The Switzerland of America."
More camping at America's Switzerland
Nathan enjoyed a very good baseball season and Mike, my brother, and Michele came to visit in June.
We camped with Kim and Tom. and completed some yard work...
August brought beautiful, sunny days and some quiet times and our Dowdy Lake Trip, an Iowa visit (sans snow), but a little sail action.
September brought Fall Colors, news of Julianne's Homecoming Activities, golf (John), aqua arobics, and yoga (Marge) with Mike and Kathy and some time with Ralph pulling us through the neighborhood !

The 50th High School Class Reunion was a kick! (I had not seen Bill, John, or Sussie since 50 years ago; Bob and I re-connected 10 years ago)...A visit with Bro Lar & Judy before I returned home to gather my Bride for a trip to Michigan...
I appreciated visiting my Kilday Cousins and a suprise visit with daughter Meg with grandchildren Julianne and Charlie at the Lake Geneva Zip Line
Trip to Sault Saint Marie and Mackinac Island. Marge wanted me to have a chance to visit these Michigan Sites...we had a wonderful time.
The Barrington Wedding
...and the newest Blessings to the Family (Colleen and Stan's Twins)
I skied one day before our November Myrtle Beach Golf trip with the Guys: Seven days, seven golf courses, and enough food and drink to make-up for a year's diet & fasting!!
December has been filled, thus far, with skiing with Fr. Ed (the ol' Priest), and some work on the re-model.
We celebrated Christmas early so we could be together...and then some of us did some skiing
Right after our Family Christmas Celebration, Matthew took-off for the two-week travel vacation that he won!
